The Maasai mara is the best known and most popular wildlife reserve in Africa, it is in the northern-most section of the mara-Serengeti ecosystem,

Lake Nakuru national park lies 140km northern west of Nairobi in nakuru county, the alkaline lake has a crusty shoreline, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland it is famous for flamingos (greater and lesser) that turn the shoreline crimson including 450 species of birds.
The park is rich of wildlife with both species of rhinos (the black and the southern white), buffalo, lion, leopard, spotted hyenas, baboons, vervet monkeys and wildebeest etc

Day one begins with pickup from Nairobi and travels along the Great Rift Valley towards the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Stop along the way to soak up the view from a magnificent lookout, then arrive at the park just in time for lunch.
Later, set out on an epic evening game drive across the rich, tree-studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Maasai Mara is renowned for its great herds of black-maned lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and virtually every type of Kenyan wildlife. After a restful day sleep at your camp,

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
